5 tablespoons olive oil

1 small onion, chopped

1 medium red pepper, stemmed, seeded and finely chopped

4 medium garlic cloves, minced

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric

2 tablespoons tomato sauce,

1 1/2 cups cooked or canned black beans, drained

1 cup cooked basmati rice

2 cups fresh breadcrumbs

Hot sauce, like Tabasco

1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, red pepper and garlic.

Cook, stirring frequently, until soft and the onions are transparent, about 8 minutes. Add cumin, turmeric, and tomato sauce. Cook for 1 minute.

In the bowl of a food processor or with a blender, combine the above mixture with beans and rice. Until they are well combined. Move to a large bowl. Add the breadcrumbs and mix well. Season with salt, pepper and hot sauce.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet. Go taking portions of the mixture forming a ball and then we give it a crushed hamburger shape

Cook until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes per side.

Serve the burgers with a salad and sesame bread, white muffin or whatever you want.

And any tasty coverage you like.
